Optimal Levels: all the time!
Smoothie isn’t a feature that you can surf, but many of you may have noticed the huge eddy above McKoy’s rapid on the river left side. You may have also noticed the big swirly eddy-lines. This is the perfect playground for squirt boaters to take advantage of the seams and get incredible downtime. This is the location of the annual Jimi-cup and the Canadian Squirt Team Trials and competition location for the 2007 World Championships.
This is not a fun spot for plastic boats, but if you have a squirt boat, this is where you want to be on the Ottawa!
